It is expected that it is as a reason why it became this life style
the cause whose existence of a tatami is great.
Tatami is woven by Igusa (a perennial plant that grow wild in the
damp area ）and is very subtle living goods.
It is difficult that when it walks on the tatami with their shoes,
Igusa is worn out immediately. Person who when earth gets in the
narrow weave of Igusa, take out cleanly is difficult.

is introduced that a tatami appeared in ancient documents as the
bedding of the emperor who was ruling a this date book about 1,300
years ago.
After that a Tatami is gilded as noble for mattress and bedding,
the Tatami will penetrate into a back with the development of tea
ceremonies with the homes of the public after that.

is 1505 （whose it is about 500 years ago from now） when the Igusa
cultivation of the Yatsushiro District is conducted on a full scale
by the way.
The Igusa cultivation is said as a beginning by special protection
by the order of the lord of Yatsushiro who was ruling the district
of Yatsushiro of that period to thing encouraged. |
